More input and say by the Rarotonga rugby union clubs has resulted in positive new changes for the running of the 2012 season which is set to kick off in early June.

Cook Islands Rugby Union president Chris McKinley has described a recent meeting with local clubs as ‘positive’ and ‘outstanding’ with club leaders revelling in the opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas on the structure of the upcoming season.

McKinley says that all six clubs on the island have confirmed they will have full representation of teams across all the grades with these details to be confirmed by each club at next week’s rugby meeting.

“It was an outstanding meeting and I’m just rapt with the work being done in rugby including volunteers re-writing the constitution,” says McKinley.

New junior grades and a new pre-season structure are among the exciting new positive change within rugby with a clear outline of the upcoming season to be confirmed by the clubs and rugby executives at their next meeting.

Meanwhile clubs across Rarotonga have begun recruiting for players and those wanting to improve and show off their Jonah Lomu and Dan Carter moves are encouraged to link up with a club and get ready for the 2012 rugby union season.
