Reuben Dearlove has again dominated the field of paddlers in the weekly oe vaka time trial series, taking out the V1 category with a time of 34 minutes and 59 seconds.

The race featured the largest fleet of V1 rudderless vaka racing in the series thus far, giving organisers a lift from the signs that Cook Islands athletes are all gearing up for Te Aito in May.

Andre Tutaka-George followed in second behind Dearlove in the V1 race, finishing in 37:17, with Paul Pearson coming third with a time of 39:09.

In the OC1 category, Josh Burrell crossed the line first in a time of 38:43 over nearest rivals Marc Cowan with 41:26 and John Raita with 42:13.

For the women, Serena Hunter took the honours in her V1 with a time of 43:55 over Vaea Melvin who crossed the line in 45:57.

In the women’s OC1, Kirsten Willis topped the field with a time of 45:37 over Annie Fisher’s 46:02 and Queenie Tamariki’s 49:50.
