The Matutu Mile fun run on Wednesday wrapped up another successful triathlon week with athletes swapping their running shoes for funny wigs and water bottles for Matutu locally-brewed designer beer.

All runners tackled the very short course from the Tikioki tri site to the Matutu Brewery where racers had to down a beer, or soft drink for those underage or more focused on running straight, before returning back to the tri site for more beer and soft drink sampling.

Sausage sizzles were grilled up for all after the fun race with entry fees given to Te Vaerua Rehabilitation Group.

The Cook Islands Triathlon Association would like to thank Matutu Brewery for supplying all the drinks and to triathlete Kelly Pick for organising a champion event.
