The Matavera men’s cricket team are leading The Computer Man Round Robin Cup after their comprehensive 10 wicket victory over Tupapa 2 at the weekend.

The Matavera men boast a strong net run rate of +10.466 after Moni Uini did the damage taking five wickets and young Ngametua Tariau hitting an unbeaten 19.

Muri are close behind in second after they chased down Arorangi Red Backs total of 86 with 7 wickets in hand.

The last two The Computer Man matches of the weekend were nail-biters with both games coming down to the last over.

Steven Kavana was the pick of the batters in the weekend as the Davana captain posted a century (114 runs) to lift his team to a composing total of 203. Davana looked to have the game in the bag until Takuvaine Captain Terry William combined with Kaumoe to put on 58 and 47 runs respectively, scoring the winning runs in the last over. Takuvaine go third place in The Computer Man Round Robin Cup.

Tupapa retain their unbeaten record but only just when they snuck through in the last over against the Titikaveka Titans. Tupapa who had wickets in hand and needing just 11 runs from three overs had a tail end collapse as the Titans fought hard to stay in the game. Heading into the last overs Tupapa needed only 5 runs and Titikaveka just one wicket for the win. A wide from the Titans and some quick running by Tupapa saw The Computer Man Western Cup winners sneak home and retain their unbeaten record. Tupapa go fourth place in The Computer Man Round Robin Cup.
