Matavera takes on Avatiu

Today’s main soccer match in the Premier Men’s CIFA knock-out elimination round will take place between Matavera and Avatiu at the Matavera school grounds.

The tension will be evident today where a big day is in store for players and supporters alike as the Matavera Premier Men’s team entertain Avatiu.

There is no question that Avatiu’s men’s team have underachieved during the ‘Round Cup’ competition but were the only team to beat Tupapa 1-0.

Avatiu will be anxious to seize the opportunity to rectify their ordinary performance by knocking out Matavera in today’s main game.

Matavera will no doubt field their best 11 players to beat Avatiu as they will be aware that a defeat could see an abrupt end to their season.

Last time these two teams met, the match ended in a two all draw.
