Rarotonga Sailing Club will be running a Learn to Sail course in the first week of the school holidays.
The course consists of a three day intensive course and finishes with a regatta and presentation of certificates.
There are still some places left in the course and it will be a case of first in, first served.
Areas covered in the course will be water safety, swimming, learning about the Optimist boats, sailing skills and boat care.
The squad will work closely with coaches and will be able to join in club training and racing at the end of the course.
Rarotonga has eight plastic learners Optimist boats and 12 Fiberglass Optis which these young sailors will graduate into as they improve their racing skills.
What better way to spend the hot summer days than to learn the basic skills of an exciting and lifelong enjoyment in sailing.
A sponsored coaches course runs alongside the learn to sail and is ideal for parents who want to spend some time with their kids in sport or teenage coaches who want to pick up good skills.
