The fifth race of the cross country series took place again from outside the BCI Stadium last Thursday.
The car park was packed with cars, but not from the runners as there was a Zumba festival going on in the stadium.
A few runners were using this as a warm up for their race.
With four women and seven men on the line, the race got underway in the opposite direction to last time.
The beat of the Zumba made a nice change over the 4 to 5 laps of the hilly run around the stadium and the arena.
Can we have them again this week? Again Phil Washbourn and Vanessa Palmer showed their dominance, and subject to a disaster, look the ones to take out the titles today.
Jacob Pynenburg, providing he turns up, should comfortably take out the junior section.
Today’s will be at Papaaroa College behind the school starting again 5.15pm.
This is the final race of the series, and championship decider, and with double points, one place up or down, can make a difference to the outcome.
Distances move up to 6k for the women and juniors, and 8k for the men. See you there, on time.
The distance is longer and the day is shorter.
Prize giving will be held afterwards along with a complimentary BBQ.
