Rarotonga secondary school students will put the cricket skills theyve learned to the test in the ANZ inter-college tournament starting today at Titikaveka College.
The tournament, the second to be run, marks the start of the ANZ junior cricket season for boys and girls that runs through to January and will feature some of the very best up and coming young talents on the island.
The two day tournament will provide a great opportunity for clubs to scout young talent for the upcoming ANZ under 16 and under 19 junior tournament starting this summer as well as the main season in 6 weeks.
The first ever girls tournament will open up the inter-college tournament today and the boys tournament will be held on Wednesday, also at the Titikaveka College grounds. Games will start at 9am and finish at 3pm.
This is the first time this tournament has been held with Titikaveka and Tereora Colleges entering two teams and Papaaroa entering one team.
All teams have been training hard for the last 4 weeks and will be giving it their all out on the pitch.
There will be live updates throughout both days on Cook Islands Crickets Facebook and Twitter pages as well as on 88FM.
So dont forget to log on and tune in to keep up to date with your schools progress.
So everyone come on down to Kent Hall on July 18 and 20 and get in behind these talented young cricketers.
