The trio of upsets in last weekend’s CITC club rugby competition is sure to leave fans salivating at some of the match-ups in this weekend’s competition.
In another busy week over the different codes, three separate competitions will go ahead during the next seven days testing the skills of junior, Sevens and senior club rugby players.
The BCI Stadium will once again host another Powerade Trophy challenge on Wednesday, which will see the under-16 Cowboys look to defend their status as titleholders against the Avatiu Eels.
Fans will get double the rugby thanks to the CITC Club Sevens taking place straight after the junior match. After last week’s round of pool play, Wednesday’s matches will see the winners of Pool A and B tackle the second placed team in each other’s group.
Avatiu Eels will play the Arorangi Cowboys in the first semi-final while the Titikaveka Bulls will be looking to overcome the 2011 champions, the Tupapa Panthers, in the other semi-final. The final will be played after that game.
With the Constitution Sevens just over a week away, the competition is the perfect chance for teams to get bragging rights ahead of the big event.
Senior club rugby sees the Avatiu Eels host the Titikaveka Bulls at the Swamp, while the Ngatangiia Dragons play hosts to the Arorangi Cowboys. The Tupapa Panthers will be looking for blood after their upset loss last week. They face the Takuvaine Reds in Nukupure.
It’s all set up for another thrilling week of rugby so get down and support the teams as they do battle throughout the island.
