Week 3 of basketball’s main tournament launched with Yachtie Hotties breezing past a normally together Devlins to a comfortable 29-18 finish.

Maybe it was the red shorts or perhaps Bianca number 7’s attention to detail under the boards to knock out 14 points in the game.

Next the Ekes and A-Town Galz went blow for blow but by the second half the Ekes’ tentacles were losing grip ultimately to come second against A-Town 27-14.

Game 3 brought Club Philippines Raro against Roaster Hire.

Club Philippines came with big hearts, a rocket called Buboy and a swarming D which kept them neck and neck until Roaster Hire turned up the heat and with masterly offensive execution had Club Philippines on the spit to win 46-30.

Rentraro continued their winning streak against the Philos whose main play makers had an off night.

Rentraros’ new kid on the block Jay Kalwa had an effective 3 point technique which may cause concern in the ensuing weeks – time will tell.

Hot Dogs, the other early leaders in the comp, continue to bite anything in their path and on Tuesday it was the Airport Jets getting a serious mauling 22-63.

Week 3 results – Yachtie Hotties 29 vs Devlins 18, Ekes 14 vs A-Town Galz 27, Club Philippines Raro 30 vs Roaster Hire 46, Rentraro 49 vs Philos 19, Hot Dogs 63 vs Airport Jets 22.
