Home ground benefit for Matavera football

The Matavera Football Club is set to host Avatiu in the main premier men’s football match today at the Takitumu School grounds.

The Lotto Premiership match between Matavera and Avatiu in their first outing saw them draw two goals a-piece in a thrilling contest at the Avatiu swamp earlier in the season.

Home ground advantage should assist Matavera in their match and have performed well and won their last two games.

With the combination of John Pareanga and Tuku Samuel in defence there is no doubt they will guide Matavera to a victory against opponents Avatiu.

Avatiu should shake things up for their opponents and they should be in for an interesting game. They will need to boost their performance against Matavera and it will be obvious in the Avatiu camp with the vocal encouragement from team player Tahiri Elikana who will direct his team to hopefully a favourable result.

In the other football matches the Tupapa Maraerenga Football Club will host Titikaveka at Victoria Park.
