Golden oldies off to good start

Last Friday’s start of the golden oldies rugby season got off to a great start with Takitumu and Rutaki Sharks supplying the jerseys and ready to play. Thanks to both teams.

Simi Teotu, our top sevens referee controlled the game and kept the lads under control but it was a fast game played the GO way and we had three ladies playing in red shorts, so guys remember they can be claimed but not tackled please allow them to release the ball.

Jaws had a good game on the wing and of course ‘Taua the Mower’ was a marked man but still came up with a smile and they took it to the opposition.

Great play by Papa Pat although with the amount of dives he made to the ground I should probably call him Diver Pat!

All up about 65 players had a good time and are looking forward to being in Takuvaine this Friday at 4.30pm or there about.

Takuvaine and 2papa please supply the jerseys.

The after match function by Mongoose was appreciated by all and thanks to Rosie’s for the use of the facilities.

This has now set the standard for the season for the rest of the teams. If you are 35 and over – get involved in golden oldies rugby.
