The Cook Islands Rugby Union in conjunction with the Whatever Bar and Grill will be holding a rugby sevens fundraiser this Friday at the Avarua waterfront bar.

The rugby sevens themed fundraiser is to help the Cook Islands national men’s and women’s rugby sevens squad prepare and travel to New Caledonia in August for the Pacific Games.

Friday is also the final day of the Wellington Sevens which the Cook Islands national squad are playing at.

If you missed out on going to New Zealand for the Wellington Sevens tournament – don’t worry, the Whatever Bar and Grill will be recreating the Welly Sevens atmosphere at their bar so you don’t feel left out.

Dress in your best outfit to support your favourite sevens team and head to Whatever Bar and Grill and you will be in to win some awesome prizes including corporate tent tickets to the 2011 International Sevens in Heaven tournament coming up in November. A $5 entry fee is all you have to pay to get into the Whatever Bar and Grill and the funds all go towards the Cook Islands Rugby Union helping the national men’s and women’s sevens squad go to New Caledonia for the Pacific Games.

The fundraiser kicks off at 2pm on Friday.
