Local DJ and Cook Islands Basketball Federation president George G-Dub Williams will be jetting off to America soon to soak in as much as he can to improve the sport here at home.

Williams has been accepted to attend the International Coaching Enrichment Certificate Programme which this year is the 4th edition.

Williams, believed to be the first Cook Islands representative to take part in this top level programme, will complete four modules as part of the programme. For two weeks Williams will receive training on coaching, biomechanics, exercise techniques and sports medicine at the University of Delaware.

Williams will also have the opportunity to take up an apprenticeship with a national basketball coach. He will also take part in anti-doping, sports psychology, nutrition and sports management courses.

The final module of the programme will be held in 2012 in Switzerland where Williams will be expected to make a presentation on his project.

Williams is looking forward to the once in a lifetime opportunity and would like to thank Turtles Tees for kitting him out in fresh new basketball apparel.
