The national women’s cricket players have only recently returned from their first international tournament and are already talking a big game as national teammates pick up their club uniforms and prepare to do battle this coming season.

Cook Islands Cricket is anticipating a marked improvement in skills and game understanding this season as national women’s players head back to their clubs with three months of concentrated high performance training and tournament experience under their belts.

With the Edgewater women’s season expected to bowl off in August/September, Cook Islands Cricket is having its first Rarotonga women’s council of clubs meeting for the season tonight at 4.30pm at the cricket office in Taputapuatea.

The meeting will set out the structure, schedule and playing conditions for the Edgewater season. Included on the agenda are technological and coaching advances that are set to push the interest and development of women’s cricket even further.

With Edgewater women’s cricket in the Cooks on the rise tonight’s meeting is expected to be well attended.
