Avatiu’s infamous swamp will host today’s football action between Avatiu and Takuvaine, with the first game kicking off at 1pm in the under 14 girls division.

In the Lotto Premiership men’s match – Avatiu will want to settle a score against Takuvaine following a 7-4 loss in their first meeting this season.

Home ground advantage will assist with Avatiu’s capabilities while Takuvaine ponders on uncovering Avatiu’s weaknesses for any goal scoring opportunities.

One point separates Avatiu from Takuvaine, and a win today for either side will further their lead.

In the senior women’s division, Avatiu and Takuvaine’s mediocre performances have seen them slide down the points table, with three points separating the two teams.

In their first meeting Avatiu defeated Takuvaine by one goal to nil, therefore Takuvaine will look to seize the opportunity to rectify its performance.

In the other matches at Victoria Park, hosts Tupapa Maraerenga will host Matavera in three grades, under 14 boys and girls with the final game to be played at 2.30pm in the senior women’s category.
