Semi finals rugby kicks off today at Nukupure Park in Ngatangiia with the top two teams in the Polynesia Bike Hire under 16 going head to head.
The impressive Arorangi Cowboys under 16s will face off against the Titikaveka Bulls at 4.30pm today.
The last time these two talented sides played each other – the Cowboys scraped through with a 15-11 win via a last minute try.
While the Cowboys will no doubt be confident ahead of their match against the Bulls today, the Bulls would have taken a lot from their previous match and know that a win against the in-form Cowboys is possible.
The match is expected to be a thrilling spectacle of school boy rugby and will be controlled by referee Bishop Bishop, assisted by club officials.
The second rugby game today will be the inter vaka women’s 10s game between Takitumu and Puaikura, kicking off at 5.30pm.
This game will be refereed by William Taripo assisted by Ben Koteka and club officials.
Puaikura will be chasing their first win of the tournament and sit on two points while Takitumu and Te Au O Tonga share the top spot with seven points each.
The remaining semi final draw will be printed in tomorrow’s edition of Cook Islands News as the Cook Islands Rugby Union is still working through a number of discrepancies.
