This Saturday is grand finals time in the CITC Club Sevens competition with all games to be played at the Titikaveka rugby field.

The Tupapa Panthers head into finals time ranked as the number one team after defeating previous week winner the Eels last Saturday.

The Cowboys are stalking the Panthers and Eels in third place while the Bulls sit on fourth, Dragons in fifth and the Reds bringing up the rear on sixth.

But with the improved quality of on-field performances by all teams – this Saturday’s grand finals is going to be a ripper and will see all teams receive a prize.

But the ultimate prize is that number one spot and spectators can guarantee some great action packed matches as teams jostle for the top spot.

This week’s Pool B looks to be the ‘pool of death’ with the Eels and Cowboys again grouped in the same pool, almost like the Cowboys are stalking their prey – Eels beware!

The Eels versus Cowboys match will be crucial and a likely decider as to who will win this year’s competition.

Pool A may be headed by the Panthers but watch for the heavy Dragons pack who could surprise on an expected heavy field?

The women’s sevens squad will also rumble at the Titikaveka field on Saturday against a resident squad.

Tomorrow we feature some of the competitions top players and playmakers to keep an eye out for during the grand finals on Saturday.

Presentations for all awards from overall placings to individual player awards will be held immediately after the last game of the day and will include a speech by a representative from major sponsor CITC.
