The accreditation passes have been given out, the booklets have been distributed and the motivational speeches have been delivered as volunteers were briefed yesterday one final time ahead of the Pacific Islands Forum.
Drivers and liaison officers were given their information booklets at the National Auditorium yesterday and were told to think well ahead of time when it came to the logistical side of the job.
”We’re already on the verge of getting this work going,“ coordinator Frances Topa-Fariu said.
”You’ve just got to be on to it.“
Forum secretariat Jaewynn McKay took the opportunity to once again thank the volunteers for giving up their time to ensure the foreign heads of state and their respective delegates were well looked after.
”I just want to say a big thank you very much again and I hope you have an enjoyable 10 days,“ McKay said.
Questions were then taken from the floor about the officers’ involvement in the opening ceremony on Tuesday evening before the group disbanded in preparation for the arrival of their foreign leaders over the coming days.
