Elmay swings her way to the top

Cook Islands top female golfer Elmay Pacific Tiger Viking has shot her way to the top of the womens field on day two of the Pacific Games golf competition in Noumea.

In fact, it is believed but yet to be confirmed, that Viking has made history on the 72 par Tina Sur Mer golf course.

The 16-year-old carded 69 on day two and has blown away New Caledonian golfers and spectators it is the first time an amateur female golfer has attained the score.

Viking now sits in the top spot with first day top golfer Charlotte Navarro dropping to third after carding 77 on day two.

The next best Cook Islands woman was Maara Kenning who shot 85 after her lower score of 83 on day one.

Kenning was in 18th place after day two and with Tania Karati in 31st place after carding 91 on day two she carded 88 on day one.

Tuaine Marsters also improved her game on day two with a score of 88 compared to her first days score of 95.

In the mens division Kirk Tuaiti didnt have as good a day as the first day and carded 80 compared to 75 on day one. He finished the second day in 15th place.

Daniel Webb and Royale Brogan lifted their game on day two with Webb carding 80 a 1 point improvement on day one.

Brogan also improved with a score of 80 compared to 82 on day one.

Sonny Karati is still finding his game and will no doubt do that in the last two days of the competition, carding 88 on day two after 84 on day one.
