Eels find form

Interesting results were seen in last weekend’s week 3 of games in the 2011 league season.

The Takuvaine Warriors premier grade is on an impressive comeback trail after being away from the tournament for some years.

The Warriors flew to Aitutaki to take on the Sharks and although the match was played in heavy rain, the game was a try scoring bonanza.

But neither side could edge out the other with the match ending in a 26-all tie.

The Eels look to have finally found their form after thrashing the Titikaveka Bulldogs 34-4 at the Swamp while the Panthers outsmarted the Arorangi Bears to win at Raemaru 19-10.

This week, the Sharks will be back on Rarotonga and they will rumble with the Eels at the Swamp in what is sure to be a fiery encounter.

The Bears will host the Warriors at Raemaru Park while the Bulldogs will host Takitumu cousins the Ngatangiia Sea Eagles on Friday.

The Panthers are on a bye this week and the masters competition still has a few kinks to be ironed out after last weekend’s game at Ngatangiia was called off due to a lack of players and direction from the masters league association.
