Random doping tests of Cook Islands athletes will be conducted throughout the month of April as part of the ‘out of competition’ doping programme.

The random testing for athletes across all national federations will be conducted by the Cook Islands Medical and Anti-Doping Organsation of the Cook Islands Sports and National Olympic Committee.

The islands two anti-doping officers Selina Napa and Charlie Numanga will be conducting the tests and national federations are urged to support the officers in providing details of the ‘whereabouts’ of athletes who may be selected for testing.

National federations and local athletes are reminded that if athletes refuse to comply with the officers when asked to be tested – they will be automatically disqualified from future sports events and could incur a ban of up to two years from competing at any sports event.

National federations who need more information can contact anti-doping officers Selina Napa on selnapa@opposition.gov.ck and Charlie Numanga on disaster@redcross.org.ck or contact the CISNOC office.
