YAREN – The Nauru office of the group ‘Save the Children’ has been raided reportedly because the charity is suspected of violating Nauru’s Cyber Crime Act.

The Guardian says police seized equipment after an email had been published which had been sent by the Nauruan manager of the Australian-run detention centre, Berilyn Jeremiah.

She said the service providers who have leaked this information to the media are in breach of the Nauruan cyber laws.

Save the Children says it did not leak the email in question. Last week, Nauru police reportedly seized computers, mobile phones and other devices including flash drives from the charity’s office.
