Heavy demands on sports fields due to a busy schedule has forced Cook Islands Rugby Union to postpone the start of the CITC club sevens competition to next week.

The club sevens was due to be held this Saturday at the Avatiu field.

The first touring game between the visiting Northcote under 13 team was also due to be played on Saturday and has now been brought forward to be played this Friday at the Tupapa field kicking off at 4.30pm.

The touring under 13 team will play a Town selection team made up of top under 13 players from the town rugby clubs.

The visiting team will play a second game against a Country selection team on October 7 at the Arorangi field at 3pm.

This match will be followed by the first game for the touring Mt Albert Grammar team at 4.15pm against a local under 19 Country team.

The Mt Albert team, which includes local boy O’Neal Rongo, will then play their second game on October 9 at Avatiu field at 4.30pm against an under 19 Town selection.

The visitor’s last game will be on Saturday, October 12 against a Cook Islands resident XV team at the BCI Stadium kicking off at 4.30pm.

Cook Islands Rugby Union apologises for any inconvenience to clubs.
