The Cook Islands national sports body, CISNOC, celebrated 24 years of being part of the Olympic movement on Wednesday, March 3.
The candles on the special cake for the ceremony were blown out by (from left) CISNOC senior vice president George Paniani, president Sir Geoffrey Henry, prime minister Henry Puna, Akaiti Puna and secretary general Rosie Blake.
National federation representatives joined CISNOC staff to celebrate the milestone and honour the leaders who had the vision to accept and be part of the Olympic movement.
In a short speech Sir Geoffrey said, “Today this little shop brings nearly one million into this country through various sporting programmes.”
A bigger celebration is being planned for the 25th birthday next year, all going well in a new Olympic House. - MW
