Bruising match

The league masters will take a long deserved break this weekend after a tough game last Friday causing a few cuts and bruises and one prominent red shorts player getting red carded (sent off) for foul play.

However, after further investigation the player with the bloodied face had a clash of heads with his own team mate while the red carded player was perhaps an over-reaction by the middleman (referee).

The game has certainly increased its intensity as the players prepare for the masters tournament in May leading up to the grand final with a couple of overseas players and teams expected to participate.

Some very exciting play by Tik Tok the man of the match stealing the show dotting down twice along with team mate Ruatea Hosking.

Surprisingly the middleman, who was elevated to the number one position, is now being reprimanded for making some harsh calls on the day.

In his defence he said ‘it looked okay to me’ and was told by the executives to go and see the Mongoose local medicine man Papa T and get his eyes checked.

The local medicine man advised that the middleman is totally colour blind and can’t tell the difference between black and black.

Speaking of red, a prominent player who was wearing red shorts was red carded for accidently clipping a player’s head with his boot.

This is the first harsh penalty ever dished out to any league masters player on the field.

The ‘General’ comment was that the player was struggling to get up for a quick play of the ball and accidently clipped the other player on the head in the movement.

However, some commented that perhaps the defending player deserved to be clipped in the head for taking out his frustrations on the red shorts.

Unfortunately, every red carded player must face judiciary and we understand the player concerned has already got his legal team together headed by the infamous Danny ‘Epati’ Crane.

The masters will be back in action next week so a Happy Easter to all.
