A number of New Zealand taekwon do students will also take part in the black belt grading meet.
Up to 30 local taekwon do students will also be striving for coloured belts at this weekends grading meet including kids as young as 5-years-old.
On Saturday morning the students striving for their black belts will have a closed session at the Princess Anne Hall in the morning and from 1pm remaining students going for their various coloured belts will join their senior members for their grading.
Certificates will be handed out to students at a lunch prizegiving to also be held at the Princess Anne Hall on Sunday.
From Monday next week to Wednesday, the Cook Islands Taekwon Do Federation will be delivering a self defence course for women.
The Womens Self Defence 101 course will be delivered by a visiting New Zealand delegation of taekwon do practitioners and this will run on Monday, October 31, at a venue yet to be confirmed between 6 oclock and 7.30pm at the low cost of just $10.
Next Tuesday and Wednesday, Avarua and Avatea School students will be given the opportunity to find out about the sport of taekwon do when delegates deliver the Basic Taekwon Do 101 course to the two schools with times to be confirmed.
The womens self defence course and basic taekwon do lessons for students are fantastic opportunities for the community to get clued up on the sport.
