Big day for Puaikura and Sokattak

The main senior women’s football clash today between Nikao Sokattak and Puaikura will be held at the Nikao field kicking off at 5pm today.

Nikao Sokattak are current competition leaders and will want to maintain this position when they take on 2012 champions Puaikura and after the two clubs nil-all score line in their first encounter – expect to see lots of sparks in this game.

Home ground advantage would favour hosts Sokattak and they have sussed their player positions with the combination of speedster strikers Teiti Tupuna and Tepaeru Toka in front who will no doubt cause problems for Puaikura’s defence.

Trailing behind Nikao Sokattak by three points, Puaikura will look to work hard to equalize with Sokattak by winning today’s match.

Before the senior women’s match, the under 14 boys will battle it out at 4.15pm.

Both teams are sitting at the top of the points table with Puaikura’s outfit ahead by two points over Nikao Sokattak and this is set to be a thrilling game to watch by our junior players.

The tension will be evident at Nikao on Friday where a big day is in store for players and supporters alike as their premier men’s team entertain Puaikura.

There is no question that Sokattak have maintained their accomplished performance so far in the competition and steering close to Puaikura who is sitting ahead of Sokattak by one point.

With both sides meeting for the second time and have found their ‘feet’ and have worked out their combinations, for sure the battle on Friday between these two top clubs will be an exhilarating match to watch.

Puaikura will likely feature their premium outfit to face a tenacious Sokattak team and only the most biased of Nikao and Puaikura fans would predict a winner leaving most neutrals ‘sitting on the fence’ in terms of forecasting the outcome.

Prior to the premier men’s match, the under 14 girls will clash at 4.15pm.

In the other Lotto Premiership match on Friday Tupapa Maraerenga will host Matavera at the Victoria at 4.45pm.
