Playing in the great outdoors was welcomed by netball fans but rain forced organisers of Saturday’s Avatiu and Arorangi games at Raemaru Park to postpone the premier grade match.

That match was played last night. But for most of Saturday, action packed netball was played in hot and humid conditions.

Hosts Arorangi presented a wonderful court to play on but it was visiting club Avatiu that had all the success.

In fact, Avatiu won all five games played on Saturday from the under 10 age grade to the reserve grade.

Arorangi will host games at Raemaru Park netball courts for the next five weeks.

At the Telecom Sports Arena in Nikao, Titikaveka faced Tupapa and Ngatangiia played Takuvaine.

Ngatangiia took out the under 10, 12 and under 15 grade with the Takuvaine reserve grade edging out Ngatangiia 54-51 in the closely fought battle.

Tight games were played between Tupapa and Titikaveka with Tupapa winning the under 10 and 12 age grade battle.
