Avatea School celebrations continue

Avatea School is still celebrating retaining the Prince of Wales inter-primary school athletics shield on Tuesday.

Avatea School scored the most points at the athletics day, allowing it to hold on to its place at the top. In total the school racked up 1036 points with second placed school Avarua amassing 797 points.

Avatea School owes it massive win to their preschool and junior grade athletes who earned 407 points from the mini sprints session.

The schools intermediate students earned 308 points and the senior students added 321 points to the total score.

St Josephs School athletes managed to win enough races to take out third place with a total of 412 points ahead of Takitumu School who totalled 368 points.

Host school Nikao Maori are still processing the horde of individual grade results and these will be sent out to all 10 schools that took part.

Nikao Maori School would like to thank all the schools, athletes, parents and all the volunteer helpers for making the day a successful one for all.
