The Cook Islands masters athletes will continue with their regular track and field meetings as they prepare for the Oceania Champs to be staged in Tahiti in early July.

The athletes will gather for their first meet for 2010 tomorrow, Wednesday, at BCI Stadium from 5pm.

The intention is to have these meeting on a fortnightly basis, so that the variety of track and field events can be covered

Any masters athlete (aged 40-plus) who is interested in participating either here on a regular basis or joining in with the group who are planning to attend the championships in Tahiti (from July 2-10) should come to the BCI stadium tomorrow, or contact either David Lobb or Terai Hill as soon as possible.

The arrangements for flights and accommodation need to be finalised this month.

The programme of events for Wednesday is as follows: 5pm shot put; 5.20pm long jump; 5.40pm javelin throw; 6pm 100m; 6.15pm 1500m. - CIMA
