Four runs from one ball was all that stood between Arorangi and victory.

In a nail-biting finish, Arorangi collected four points for the win against Davana men’s, moving into fourth place of The Computer Man round robin cup.

The Davana men’s team came painstakingly close to their second win of The Computer Man round robin cup on Saturday.

Scoring 149 from their 20 overs against Arorangi seemed a promising score for Davana with three players making it into the 20’s – Tereinga Maoate scored 25, Bruce John scored 20 and Brian scored 20.

Arorangi openers Nga Emile with 60 runs and Daniel Webb with 54 runs batted well together to get to 97 until Webb was bowled by ex-Arorangi player Bruce John.

Davana got themselves back in the game when they collected the big wicket of Emile and collected a further two Arorangi batters cheaply.

The Computer Man competition is so competitive this season that a win for Davana would have slung them into 5th place, however they will have to contend with 8th, on equal points with Muri at 9th place but ahead on net run rate.

Tupapa 2 sits in last place on 2 points. Davana take on 3rd placed Turangi this weekend while Arorangi play 2nd placed Tupapa at Vic Park.
