The Arorangi Cricket Club aims to be the best club in the Cook Islands and so far they are not only doing the damage on the pitch – they are looking good doing it!
This week the club blessed its set of brand new uniforms for both the men’s and women’s teams.
And at the weekend, the Arorangi men’s team wore their kit with pride when they met and beat opponents Takuvaine.
It’s been about five years since the club has seen new uniforms and in fact the Arorangi club is leading the way for the rest of the clubs on the island.
The club celebrated the opening of the island’s first proper cricket nets earlier this year and now they have two to improve their skills in.
The club members, both players and supporters, are very grateful to their generous sponsors The Dive Centre and Puaikura Reef Lodges for coming to the party and helping the club provide its players with new playing gear.
Not only are the Arorangi men’s team a threat to other clubs on the pitch, their squad of gun women players are also expected to dominate this year’s competition too.
After all, Arorangi’s traditional red colour is the sign of danger!
