Arorangi beat Matavera

Arorangi beat Matavera in the Lotto Premier Men’s main match on Saturday.

Arorangi’s 2-1 win surprised the Matavera players and supporters.

Arorangi’s first goal came in a way of a penalty in the box and took the opportunity to slot their first goal through Temana Pennycook.

Both sides attacked at their ends of the goal areas but could not find the back of the net, however Matavera was awarded a penalty in the box from a foul from an Arorangi defender.

The penalty was taken for Matavera but they missed the goal and were given another opportunity –but they missed that too.

It looked like Matavera would hold Arorangi to a one all draw until the dying minutes when the Matavera goal keeper was lured out of his box to set up Temana Pennycook to put through the winning goal for Arorangi and scoring his second of the day. - CIFA Media
