Rarotonga children are still buzzing after the hugely successful Kids Tryathlon on Friday.

Even organiser and level one triathlon coach Vanessa Palmer is still buzzing over the enthusiasm and skills shown by all the kids from the babes to the older kids.

In total 97 children registered and raced over various courses.

“It was a very cool afternoon and the kids seemed to love it!” says Palmer. The school teacher triathlete was also thrilled with the support and sponsorship from community business who chipped in with fantastic prizes.

“The prizes were amazing and the kids thought it was Christmas, especially with the huge lolly scramble at the end!”

All racers entered into the highly successful event received a Weet-Bix t-shirt for the race and a shiny medal at the end all thanks to Sanitarium.

Palmer would like to thank Empire Cinema, Prime Foods, Avarua Bakery, Coco Putt, Spaghetti house, Cook Islands News and ANZ Bank for their awesome support of the school holiday multisport programme.
