Volleyball teams smashed their way to a great start in the new BCI volleyball social league on Friday at the Telecom Sports Arena.
The new scoring format of the competition was also well received by the 30 teams although the volleyball association is still to make some minor adjustments to ensure that players understand the rules and get the most enjoyment out of their games.
In the women’s social division – Turtles Fani Totoy’s edged out competition sponsor BCI 2-1 while team Bubbles beat the Top Kopz 3-0.
It was a clean sweep for the Airport Jetz who beat RMD Spikers 3-0.
In the men’s social division – winning teams registered clean sweeps against their opponents.
The Formidable King Tong E Koko team won by default over Westpac No Pacz while RAMA 777 beat Vonnias Vikings 3-0 and Da Edge beat RMD Spikers 3-0.
Some closely fought games were seen in both the men’s and women’s competitive division.
For any volleyball player and supporter interested – there will be a session on refereeing starting at 5pm at the CISNOC office on Thursday October 28.
