Paddlers pay respects to crash victim
The Cook Islands Canoeing Association paid a moving tribute to one of their members on Thursday last week. Daniel Teheipuarii, who would have turned 22 next month, passed away in a motorbike accident, a week ago. He was a member of Ngakau Toa Vaka. More than 100 members of the association paddled out to sea from the Traders Jack waterfront at Avarua to lay wreath of flowers in his name. Some members gave moving speeches describing Teheipuarii as a 'good friend'. Association president Catherine Evans said they were saddened by the loss adding that he would always be remembered by his vaka family.
