Disaster finance a first for region

COOK ISLANDS has secured a $13.95 million loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) which will be made available in the event of a disaster hitting this country, The policy-based loan will fund the Cook Islands Disaster Resilience Programme, which will make finance rapidly available in the event of a disaster.
