Cook Islands Tourism Corporation will hold its first Global Breakfast Update tomorrow at the Muri Beach Club Hotel. 

Graeme West, general manager of the Cook Islands Tourism Corporation for Australasia, will be holding three presentations detailing current activity in the New Zealand and Australia markets, including information on what is planned moving forward to drive visitation into the Cook Islands.

Each session – starting at 8.30am, 10.30am and 12.30pm – is limited to a maximum of 25 attendees.

The presentation is also expected to include the latest visitor arrival figures for March.

Visitor numbers in the Cook Islands dropped in February by 466 people compared to arrivals in January when the quarantine free travel with New Zealand resumed.

The Cook Islands border re-opened to New Zealand on January 13 and had 3640 visitors for the rest of the month.

In February there were 3174 visitors, according to the Cook Islands Statistics Office.

In early 2020 prior to the borders being shut due to the Covid-19 pandemic, January had 9906 visitors and February recorded 8955 visitors.
