Two hundred and twenty-one (221) students explored the 21 booths from government agencies and private sector at the Expo yesterday.
Climate Change Cook Islands team of Celine Dyer and Melina Tuiravakai from the Office of the Prime Minister also participated in the Aitutaki Career Expo.
The last Career Expo was conducted in 2008.
Araura College principal Gaylyn Lockington along with her teachers, students and school committee were overwhelmed with the support, internships and employment opportunities presented during the event.
Aitutaki Career Expo’s emcee Pitomai Solomona said that “this Career Expo and interest for recruitment for our students is so encouraging for our children, especially to know if they study hard, they have so many opportunities to work on our beautiful island paradise.”
Principal Gaylyn Lockington said: “We would like to thank all those that participated to make this event a huge success for our youth from the vendors, parents, students and especially my amazing team. Meitaki Atupaka.”
Climate Change Cook Islands also offered internship opportunities to the students from Araura College.
