The third person, an adult man reported been bitten in two separate incidents.
The latest incident left 10 goats slaughtered on Thursday in Tupapa.
Two dogs have been identified and a prosecution file (against the owners) is being prepared, police spokesman Trevor Pitt confirmed on Friday.
Eight incidents have been reported since the beginning of last month including two attacks on pigs and two of dogs charging at people.
Pitt said police are authorised to put down any dog that attacks people or livestock, or which causes a road crash.
Owners are then liable for prosecution.
“Although resources and Covid-19 responsibilities have dictated the assignment of personnel over recent times, police will be looking to step up the measures on roaming and menacing dogs, and their owners.”
Dog Registration and Animal Control Committee (DRACC) spokesman Christina Mani said the committee is reviewing all legislation relating to dog registration, animal welfare and livestock management.
“Part of the mandate of DRACC is to develop an animal control investment plan, which is underway at present,” Mani said.
“Members of the public are encouraged to report all incidents of aggressive animal behaviour to the Police as soon as possible.
“DRACC supports the police in administering the law as it stands in relation to dog ownership and the responsibilities of the owners under the law.”
