Marjorie Crocombe OBE laid to rest

Under the sombre veil of nightfall, bright lights shone with the presence of hundreds, to farewell the country’s exceptional brilliant star – the late Marjorie Tuainekore Tere Crocombe nee Hosking OBE (19 June 1930 - 21 July 2022) – yesterday evening.

Over 92 active years, she was first and foremost the devoted matriarch of her family, as well as an educator, author, and university administrator whose life helped and touched so many.

Cook Islands journalist Lisa Williams said: “She was a fierce supporter of media, both her and Papa Ron (her late husband Professor Emeritus Ron Crocombe).”

Williams is grateful and blessed to have spent time with the Crocombes. “I have an appreciation of the regional legacy they have built,” she said.
