After a successful week one with 41 children in total attending, the programme is keeping a steady and ever popular momentum during week two.
The programme has provided children from Year 1 to Year 4 with fun, exercise and new friendships.
It continues this week for Years 5 to 8.
Carefully planned activities to make for a balanced week of keeping both the body and the mind active while away from school have been supervised by the CISNOC team.
These include gymnastics and Olympic activities on Monday, basketball and yoga on Tuesday, outdoor education and fun activities on Wednesday, aquatics and beach games on Thursday, and crafts, games and volleyball to wrap it up on Friday.
“Each of the children enrolled in the programme indicated goals that they were hoping to achieve, some of these goals include socialization, increasing physical activity, and exposure to new or different sporting activities.
“It may be fair to say that throughout the week the kids participated in at least one activity that was new or different to them,” said Keziah Lewis, member of CISNOC.
“From what we have heard, both the parents and the children have been happy with the results of the programme.
“We are open to any feedback as it will help with the development of any future programmes that we may have,” she said.
CISNOC wanted to say thank you to Victoria Dearlove, Cook Islands Gymnastics, Cook Islands Basketball, Cook Islands Aquatics, and Cook Islands Volleyball for volunteering time and equipment to be used throughout the two week programme.
