The Titikaveka College prefect induction ceremony was marked with a special donation of funds to a family who lost all their possessions in a fire that destroyed their home earlier this month.

College principal Vae Unuka said the school held a mufti day with students and staff contributing funds of $200 towards the fire victims.

The donation was presented to fellow student Nagorm Upu and his mother Terepai Upu.

Terepai Upu was overwhelmed by the generosity of the school and was also happy to attend the induction ceremony held a week ago.

Titikaveka College Parents and Teacher’s Association (PTA) chairperson Elizabeth Hosking delivered the keynote address at the event and presented each of the student leaders with their certificates.

Newly inducted head boy Jadin Samuel Guy says his goals are “to ensure that the students continue to learn in a safe and happy environment”.
