The Cook Islands Government has made changes to its travel advisory following a new Covid-19 community case in Auckland.
According to RNZ, there is a new community case of Covid-19 which health officials are investigating
In a statement released this afternoon, New Zealand's Ministry of Health said further updates will be provided once more information becomes available.
The Cook Islands Government has announced some changes to its travel advisory, potentially affecting New Zealand visitors.
Anyone who Te Marae Ora Ministry of Health has designated as a ‘Person of Interest’ will not be allowed to enter the country.
A 'Person of Interest' is defined as someone who is a Covid-19 exposure risk, as determined by local health officials.
This includes being a confirmed or probable case, someone waiting for Covid-19 test results, a close or casual contact with a known case/location of interest within the preceding 14 days, and a person who has been in a location of Interest in 14 days prior to travel.
A Person of Interest is also anyone designated a risk due to other epidemiological, exposure or clinical reasons, such as clinical indications for Covid-19.
Local officials are monitoring the situation.
