Apii Te Uki Ou wrapped up its year five and six camp this week after spending four days at the Marsters House in Tupapa.
Year five and six teacher, Emily Hatch said the camp was extremely successful.
Hatch said many students tried different activities for the first time and new friendships were developed between students from different classes.
“My highlights were seeing all of my kids stepping out of their comfort zone to try new things and seeing them all happy and enjoying the activities we planned,” she said.
“The kids all had different highlights including our hike up Raemaru, our trip to the motu on Koka Lagoon and Spotlight at night with their friends.”
Hatch said the camp was a good opportunity for the students to spend time with their teachers outside of the normal school environment.
“The kids are just super lucky to have this experience and have parents and businesses who were happy to support the camp.”
