The Office of the Public Service Commissioner has invited applications for the position, calling on applicants who have the “capacity to make critical decisions and lead the Government’s financial recovery”.
Henderson’s three-year contract finishes in December.
“I am close to completion of my second contract.
“If I wish to retain the position, I would have to do so through a competitive process as the OPSC policy does not allow roll over after serving two contracts.
“I am considering applying for the position.”
Henderson is one of the two highest paid public servants in the Cook Islands.
The position requires someone who has a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, management, public sector management or a relevant field with at least 10 years’ experience.
The successful applicant is charged with providing strategic advice on all aspects relating to the functions of the agency, reporting to Parliament, and the Public Service Commissioner.
The term is for three years.
