High profile case granted suppression

A high profile Cook Islander appeared in Court yesterday.
According to a court staff all information on the case had been suppressed, which included the name of the person and the charge the person faced.
The suppression lasts until October 28 when the person next appears.
Ministry of Justice did not notify Cook Islands News about the case, a court staff member said it was because the case was very last minute.
The person was arrested yesterday, charged and appeared in court in the afternoon.
