Enter the Calvary Hall in Arorangi and you are greeted by these patient talented women: from left, Puaikura paramount chief Tinomana Tokerau Ariki (Tokerau Munro), Mataa Dean and Vaine Teokoiti of the 'Teau Vainetini' hand sewing tivaivai group.The stunning colours and designs of beautifully handsewn tivaivai (embroidery) and patch work quilting (tui auri) by this team of women in Puaikura is impressive. Teau Vaintini are exhibiting their delicate needle work (bedspreads, cushion covers etc.) at the hall from 9am to 4pm daily until Friday.
