Cook Islands statistician Jim Nimerota has become the first Pacific Islander to receive the 2014 Raymond T Bowman Memorial Prize for Outstanding Achievement, after attending an 18-week training course, “Improving Capability in Producing Official Statistics Relating to Millennium Development Goals (MDG) Indicators,” in Japan.
